"We came to Warwick to visit the castle, but having escaped the Theme Park we found refuge in this magical corner of Warwick. The history is intriguing, the architecture fascinating and the welcome from the Brethren warm and hospitable. Good, homecooked food available to top it off and a secret garden to enjoy after your meal."
"Interesting little place worth a visit out side looks lovely, nice home made scones and cakes in cafe staff friendly both in hospital and cafe"
"Driving through Warwick today we saw this place and just had to stop because it looks so beautiful. We were greeted by the lovely ex-servicemen that live there and told all about the hospital. We stopped off in the Kitchen for a cream tea which was absolutely delicious and still warm from the morning bake. A place that must not be missed."
"After years of meaning to visit the Lord Leycester Hospital we finally did, and loved it. So will anyone with a keen interest in history and architecture. It encompasses the Guilds, Elizabeth 1, Shakespeare and James 1st, to name but a few. I never knew of the resident 'Brethren' who are similar to the Chelsea pensioners, but predate them considerably. The passage to the Chapel, above one of the original gates into Warwick, provides great views of the Tudor buildings at this end of town which amazingly survived the great fire of Warwick in the 1690. You also see the Great Hall and the Guild Hall with its armoury display, an amazing Tudor upper passageway in the courtyard, and the Brethren's kitchen. The Master's garden at the rear is a hidden gem and well worth returning to see in the Summer."

"We met brother Bill at the entrance porch and within minutes became aware of the vast amount of knowledge he was able to share with us in his own imitable way. A very entertaining few hours followed as we toured through this historic gem's environs. A very warm welcome was also discovered as we stumbled into The Master, who very kindly shared some secret treasures with us.
An amazing space in time, that is working incredibly hard to remain true to its roots within the challenges of this 21st century life. I wish them all well for the future, and highly recommend this visit to anyone interested in real lived history, and not just a sugar coated replica of it."

"The great thing about this old (14th century with 12th century chapel) building is that people live in it, and these self-same people welcome and guide you around it. Yes it is very old, but it is still alive and not a museum. Fascinating though the building is, our experience of it would have been nowhere near as enjoyable if it were not for the two brothers who were on duty the day we visited... for anyone interested in history it's an absolute gem."
"Me and my girlfriend visited around a week ago. We were due to visit the castle but we decided to visit Lord Leycester Hospital instead. The staff were very friendly and always asked if we were okay. The buildings were beautiful and the gardens were stunning (despite it being Winter). I'm just glad we decided to come here, will definitely be back in the Summer!"

"Such a lovely time at Lord Leycester Hospital last Thursday. Met two of the Brethren, in particular a helpful chap called 'Pete'. Thank you Pete for your dialogue and direction and friendly nature. Also thank you to Julien for his impromptu information given. Love the history the Hospital holds."

"Beautiful old buildings that make you feel like you are in a Harry Potter film! Lots of information including a talk by one of the old soldiers who live there and run it."
