Our Great Hall, which once hosted royalty, will be adapted so that we can explain its historic significance and it will also become the new home of the Brethren’s Kitchen, our cafe. This medieval banqueting hall has been a site of festivities and functions for 700 years and it will be served by its own kitchen, much larger than before which will enable us to expand our menu. It will continue to be a unique venue for weddings and other celebrations, allowing us to share our heritage and bring in revenue that will help us to maintain our buildings in the future and support our charity.
We do need to enlarge our current ticket office if we are going to increase our footfall, so we intend to create a new Visitor Centre with disabled access. We plan to connect the Visitor Centre to a new gift/souvenir shop, creating a better flow for visitors.
