Pathway of Support
Threaded through the Master’s Garden, the Pathway of Support celebrates the restoration and transformation of the Lord Leycester by remembering those whose individual generosity has helped to turn our ambitions into reality.
For a donation of £500, the purchase of a paver greatly supports our charitable aims of providing accommodation to ex-servicemen and to ensure the upkeep of our gardens and grounds for future generations to explore – and view the Pathway of Support!
Your support for the Lord Leycester will be recognised through a permanent inscription on a flamed, nero black granite paver embedded in the pathway. You have the opportunity to choose from 1 of 4 different Lord Leycester emblems, to accompany your 3 line inscription (17 characters) of your choice.
The Pathway is an eye-catching feature for the 500-year-old garden that was already a “recreational greensward” when Robert Dudley founded the Lord Leycester in 1571. The new path is now suitable for disabled access and gives wheelchair users the chance to see the garden.
Past Mayors of Warwick have left their inscription on a paver, as well as couples who were married here, dignitaries of the county, those remembering loved ones, Deputy Patrons, Friends of the Lord Leycester or just those who love the garden! It is a brilliant way to become a part of our rich history and for visitors of the future to speculate and wonder – who is this person whose name is on a paver and whose donation helped preserve the Lord Leycester?
