The Lord Leycester | Registered Charity 216831

The Lord Leycester is one of the oldest veterans’ charities in the world, providing accommodation and community for former servicemen and women for over 450 years. Founded in 1571 by Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, the charity predates the Royal Hospital Chelsea by more than a century.

Today, the Lord Leycester continues to support the Brethren by providing not only housing, but companionship, stability, and a lasting sense of community within one of Britain’s most remarkable historic sites.

As a living heritage site at the heart of Warwick, support for the Lord Leycester helps maintain the Brethren’s homes, preserve the ancient buildings and gardens they live within, and continue the charity’s work for future generations.

There are many ways you can support the Lord Leycester and its charitable mission, from volunteering and donations to joining our Friends membership scheme.
