What happens at the Lord Leycester when the visitors have gone home and the doors are locked for the night?
This Halloween, step inside one of Warwick’s most historic buildings after dark for an atmospheric journey through almost 900 years of ghost stories, darker history and unexplained happenings.
By candlelight, your guide will lead you through the Lord Leycester’s ancient buildings, sharing stories that have been passed down through generations – from the legend of a headless knight and the mysterious death of Amy Robsart to ghostly figures, unexplained footsteps and strange encounters reported by those who have lived and worked here.
And this year, there are new stories to tell…
Following growing interest in the Lord Leycester from paranormal investigation teams, you’ll also hear about some of the strange experiences reported during recent investigations in 2026 – in the very rooms where they happened.
Some stories are legend. Some are history. Some happened only months ago.

Make an evening of it
Our café will remain open especially for the occasion from 5pm until the tour begins at 6:30pm, serving a special spooky menu alongside drinks and treats.
Arrive early, grab something to eat or drink and settle in before your guide comes to collect you from the café and your after-dark tour begins…

Adults – £15
Children – £10
Recommended for ages 10+.
Younger children may attend at the discretion of their parent or guardian. The tour contains ghost stories and references to death, warfare and other darker historical themes which some younger visitors may find frightening.
There are no scare actors or planned jump scares.
Before you visit
The Lord Leycester is a medieval site with uneven floors, narrow staircases and historic access routes. Unfortunately, some areas included in this tour are not accessible to wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility. Please contact us before booking if you would like to discuss your access requirements.
Tours take place after dark and lighting around parts of the site will be deliberately low to create an atmospheric experience. You’re very welcome to bring a small torch to help you navigate if you would feel more comfortable doing so.
And remember — the Lord Leycester can get very cold after dark, particularly in October! Please wrap up warm and wear comfortable, sensible footwear.
Your guide will collect you from the café before the tour begins.
Then all that’s left to do is follow them into the dark…
