Building the Lord Leycester – KS2

In this workshop students will explore the Medieval site of the Lord Leycester and investigate some of the intentional design of the buildings and develop their own designs based on this. Through play and discussion, students will be able to compare historical methods of building with modern practices and learn about the importance of the site and its history.

Tudor Day Out – KS1 & KS2

In this fun and interactive workshop, students will experience what it was like to live in Tudor Warwick and immerse themselves into Tudor Society. Students will travel back in time to 1571 to learn about Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester and why he decided to set up his hospital for military veterans.

Do we need to prebook a visit?

Yes. Pre-booking a visit is essential. This will help us ensure that you have the best possible experience and will help us to prevent the site from becoming overcrowded.

Are you able to help with the cost of transportation to the site?

The Lord Leycester is proud to be able to offer a travel support fund aimed at helping with the cost of coach transport to the site. This has been made possible through the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund. (Terms and conditions apply, please ask a member of our Team for more information).

How many students and support staff can we bring to the museum?

Each session can run with a minimum of 15 children and a maximum of 30. We operate a 1:6 ratio of staff to students at EYFS to KS2 and a 1:8 ration for KS3 and KS4.

We can be flexible on this, especially if you are coming from a SEND school – contact our team for details. There is no minimum for Self-Led Visits.

Do you have space for us to eat lunch?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a lunch space on site.

Are we able to go into the Gift Shop on our visit?

Yes, you can visit our gift shop, however, you must request this in advance of your trip.

Are all parts of the museum accessible to wheelchair users?

Unfortunately, parts of our site remain inaccessible to wheelchair users, such as our 900-year-old chapel. However, we can cater workshops to avoid these areas if required.

Can we book a self-led visit?
