A visit to Shakespeare’s country isn’t complete without a visit to the Lord Leycester, located in the heart of Warwick and a stone’s throw from Stratford-upon-Avon. Whether you are looking for a day trip or staying in Warwick, Leamington Spa or Kenilworth, we are accessible by coach, car, bus, rail and bike!

The Lord Leycester is a great place to bring a group of 15 or more, whether you’re organising a club day trip or a large coach party, we would be delighted to welcome you. Brethren’s Tour

Enjoy being escorted on this wonderful guided tour by a robed member of the Brethren. Discover the history of the site, the lifestyle of the Brethren through the centuries and take a glimpse into life at the Lord Leycester today. Learn more about the nuances of this fascinating historical gem hidden in the heart of Warwick

Robert Dudley Tour

Join us for an exclusive evening tour of the Lord Leycester and hear the tale of how Robert Dudley, the Earl of Leicester and favourite of Elizabeth I, came to own the medieval guild buildings and his motivation for transforming them into a ‘hospital’, providing homes for deserving warriors known as the Brethren, who still occupy the building today! 

Highlights:

  • On arrival enjoy a glass of Prosecco or a soft drink.
  • Explore the wonderfully restored buildings showcasing the stories of the Lord Leycester’s first Masters and their personal relationship with Dudley
  • Trace the Patronage of the Lord Leycester to the Sidney family – today’s Patrons and descendants of Robert Dudley
